How to Test Fake Eggs
We read many articles about the fake eggs in the market. We cant be too sure so there must be a way how we can test it out. In this experiment we explain some concept how we can test out fake eggs. As we know the albumen of the egg is made of protein. If you can test out the white is actually protein, then there is a high chance your eggs is not fake. Let look at how we can do it
Use Millon’s test for proteins.
- Shake albumen in test tube up with water. Add Nitric acid (5ml)
- Add Millons reagent( 5ml).
- Test tube is then place in hot water bath.
- A wine-red colour change will follow.Monomers: C,H,O,N,S
During hydrolysis amino acid reacts with water.
I guess it kind of clear off our doubts then!!!. So go to the nearest chemical lab and buy a bottle of millon reagent. They do sell it.
